Sentencing

According to the US District Probation Office- District of Minnesota, no sentencing date has been set. They did say that it could be sometime in December, but that was not definite.

Fox News is reporting that Victim T and the rest of the crybabies have recently "attempted to get a clue" (and life) but, both CBS News and CNN say, "It's too close to call."

Anonymous said...

Ha, good one.

Anonymous said...

We will see who's crying when they go off to prison.

Anonymous said...

Well, hopefully Victim T will be able to sleep again after it is all over.

People who have been impacted have asked about sentencing. What is wrong with trying to find out information?

Why don't you get a life and stay away from this site since you do not care about anyone but yourself including renters that have been impacted by TJ.

Hopefully they do not go to prison, then they can pay off all their judgements. Don't believe their are any? Guess again!

Start your own site.

Anonymous said...

OOOHH, someone must of struck a nerve. HA HA - I could really care less about their judgements, you were the fool that borrowed them money.

Oh, THIS is rich!

"Why don't you get a life and stay away from this site since you do not care about anyone but yourself including renters that have been impacted by TJ.

Hopefully they do not go to prison, then they can pay off all their judgements. Don't believe their are any? Guess again!"

Does anyone else see the irony in that statement?
Now they hope they DON'T go to prison so they can pay off their judgements???

Translation:
"I could care less about serving so-called Justice when there is a chance that I can get MY money back."

Go cry to Johnny.
That anti johnny blog is pretty funny, if you haven't seen it.

Classic, now they don't want them going to jail! What a nut job.

Anonymous said...

Why are you clumping us all together "they"? I for one don't see why the taxpayers should pay for their prison stay. Why should they get free food and shelter for the next ? years. There are obviously others who do want justice and for them to go to prison.

Who said anything about the city of Minneapolis, the water and sewar companies, and the renters whose damage deposits were stolen "borrowing" them money.

You are the one that is a fool and is clueless.

Anonymous said...

Lost their damages deposits? Do you realize that most of their renters were welfare cases? How much money did they have to put up for a damage deposit?

Anonymous said...

Victim T - You seem to be in the know (?) - The sentencing date keeps being extended. Can you explain this to us novices??

Anonymous said...

What heartless evil people. They preyed on the poor, family members and friends. I bet those rental damage deposits meant a lot to those people, regardless of how little money it might be to you.

Anonymous said...

I agree, maybe it was not much money, but why should it be in Jon and Tom's pockets instead?

Anonymous said...

Last I heard, Jon and Tom's pockets are pretty empty. Good luck in getting anything from them.

Anonymous said...

Hey T - Come December, are you going to extend the sentencing date again? Do you truely know what is going on with this???

Anonymous said...

Can't you read? VT said the date was not definite.

Anonymous said...

Yes I can read, can you? There have been several dates posted on here, and NONE have been correct.

Anonymous said...

You are mentally/legally challenged. Thejudicial system changes dates all the time. Court dates, mediation dates, trial dates and yes sentencing dates.

The important thing is that once the date we have all been waiting for is here. Many people will be in the court room to cheer them onto PRISON!!

Anonymous said...

Wait a minute, I thought we did not want them to go to prison now. Us tax payers do not want to have to house and feed them. Which way is it?

Anonymous said...

I want them to enjoy prison life. I have heard that the food is very good along with the dating life :))))))))

Anonymous said...

T - I do believe that you are the one that is mentally challenged. You post more incorrect information, than you do correct.

Johnny Northside said...

People may agree or disagree...it is a free country...but on my blog, johnnynorthside.com, I have written about my idea of "Let the punishment fit the crime."

It would cost the taxpayers less if Thomas Balko and Jon Helgason were required to LIVE OUT THEIR SENTENCE in one of their own houses in North Minneapolis.

They could stay within a one block area and do what we all do in North Minneapolis, as it now is with all the vacant houses from mortgage fraud, WORSE than it was BEFORE:

Plant flowers. Call 911. Pick up litter. Have one neighborhood meeting after another. Do photo surveillance of crack houses across the freaking street to make the case to police to get a warrant, do a raid, even though the 4th Precinct is WAY SHORT ON COPS and it's like pulling teeth, sometimes, to get action on open air drug markets.

Rinse, lather and repeat.

I know many want to see Tom and Jon in prison. Indeed, I'm not advocating so hard AGAINST that. I'm not defending them or saying they shouldn't go to prison. In fact, I've actually been researching the white collar prison situation in Minnesota a little bit by reading a book by former televangelist Jim Baker (sp?) who did his sentence in Rochester, Minnesota.

His book, "I Was Wrong," goes into glorious detail, including a recipe for "prison pizza" I hope to share soon on my blog. But I digress. Probably because I'm so hungry this moment...

Baker went to prison in Rochester because he had some mild medical conditions associated with depression and because he was a non-violent, white collar criminal. I know people have been saying Tom and Jon's prison sentence might happen in "Yankton, South Dakota" but nothing is definite. I can see where Rochester, Minnesota makes just as much sense.

But I keep advocating for a different idea. My "Let The Punishment Fit The Crime" idea, which is on my blog.

Consider this: what is Thomas Balko and Jon Helgeson's opinion of where they should go, if given a choice of prison or house arrest in North Minneapolis?

If they ACTUALLY WANT TO GO TO PRISON INSTEAD OF HOUSE ARREST IN NORTH MINNEAPOLIS then I say: send them to North Minneapolis, instead. Because they DON'T WANT TO GO THERE.

It will be spiritually good for them. I don't say this in a mean way. I know people are angry and they've been ripped off, but I haven't experienced that...so I have the luxury of a kind of objectivity by non-victimization.

I have no idea whether my idea, which I have promoted on my blog quite a bit, has gained ANY traction or ANY discussion with those involved. But this being the "sentencing" thread, perhaps it is a good place to have this discussion, if people want to.

Thanks.

Oh, P.S.

I concur with another comment...the court system changes dates all the time. The "not definite" December date was more information than I had before reading the original blog entry, so thank you, Victim T, thank you very much!

September 17, 2008 10:09 AM

I think you miss the point, idiot. The majority of people in NMPLS, did not put their own money down for a damage deposit, it was us tax payers that did, they were on welfare. DUH!

Anonymous said...

What about all the others? There were many people that lost their damage deposits not just NMSP people. And why should the government lose their money and J & T get to keep it? Either way taxpayers or individuals, everyone lost their money to these seperpents once again.

There is simply NO WAY to justify them.

Anonymous said...

DAMN! - I just lost 15K in my 401k, hey T, who should I blame?

Anonymous said...

Jim, if your stock broker lied to investors, forged documents and took money under the table, then go after him.

Anonymous said...

Sorry to disappoint you, this is not Jim. I willingly signed up for my 401K, just like the victims that signed on the dotted line, when they invested their credit/money. They too thought they would get a return, but lost just like I did. So answer the question, who can I blame?

Anonymous said...

I don't know about you but my stock broker is not going to jail :))). Guess that is where the difference lies. There is a difference between being paid a fee and investing. Investing you may or may not get a return on your investment, in other words share in the profit or loss.

Now I will agree that some people who signed for many multiple properties on the same day knew something must be wrong. But most who signed just one were definitely SCAMMED!!

You are just bitter that people have them figured out.

People do have a right to blame someone for fraud. That is why there is a court system. If I remember correctly they have pled guilty to mail fraud resulting from a mortage scheme.

Again, guess that is why they are going to prison and the 401K managers are not.

Anonymous said...

Bitter, why in the hell would I be bitter? I could care less what happens either way, You are obviously the one that is bitter. Oh don't worry T, it will all be over soon.

Anonymous said...

I am not "T". Where is the coralation between a legitimate investment in a 401K and these scum? They are just country boys that were trying to play in the real world.

Is it really going to be over soon? Please do tell what you know.

Anonymous said...

HA - You would love to know, wouldn't you. Just ask T, she knows everything.

Anonymous said...

"Bitter, why in the hell would I be bitter? I could care less what happens either way, You are obviously the one that is bitter. Oh don't worry T, it will all be over soon."

Really? Why are you here then if you could care less? But then again nothing you seem to post makes sense.

Anonymous said...

now now T, no need to criticize people.

Victim T said...

Sorry that was not me.

I currently do not have any updates, but as soon as we hear anytthing from the Probation office, I will post it.

Thanks,

T

Looks like Jon is paying someone. Even though he is claiming he has no money. There is also another
50K payment he made on the same day. I am sure it is to cover his own personal assets.

What a f*&King self preserver, while his friends and family suffer. Must be one of his personal mansions.

Trying to pass off old, outdated information as new information.

That's almost funny. I'm surprised anybody from North Dakota--a place that prides itself on common sense--would jump into an argument to help the professional fraudsters from TJ Waconia.

So John, now you are trying to pass yourself off as a SR DANCE MOM? It must be real lonely, being you!

Get it right Johnny, we are not jumping into an argument with anyone, just letting everyone know that you are a loser, always have been, and always will be. The reason we post on here, is because everytime we make a comment on your blog, you never post it, why is that Johnny? ND hate JNS

I like the idea that all the friends Watkins, the relatives are all showing how Tom and Jon aren't at all sorry for what they did. They are only sorry they got caught. I wonder how that will play out at their sentencing on MARCH 10, 2009! I wonder if the courtroom will be FILLED with victims speaking at open mic about how they had been ridiculed for the amounts they paid in damage deposits. How they had been cajoled by the Balkos family members and friends that there were no real victims except Tom and Jon. I wonder how easy it is to prove who actually does post here. I wonder if the prosecuting attorney is having a field day on these blogs determining who posts what.. just to make sure that Tom and Jon get the stiffest sentence. I wonder!!!

Please send me any information you have about John Hoff, aside from his blog. We are drafting a lawsuit against him and need all the information about his crazy behavior in all the states he has lived. Why does ND hate him? Anyone know him when he went by the name John Hoffman? We need information to show the court that he's a antagonistic lunatic. And that he's using his position on the Jordan Community Council to obtain non-public information. Any information will be appreciated.
